Abstract

The 2024 edition of the SHEroes Resilience Summer School, held from June 22-29 at Castello del Valentino in Turin, successfully concluded, bringing together participants from Belgium, China, Italy, Israel, Iraq, the Netherlands, and the Philippines.

The programme, co-organized by Politecnico di Torino, UNESCO, and UCLA-Cotsen Institute of Archaeology, is a part of the 6th Edition of the Joint Summer School programme “Cultural Heritage in Context – Digital Technologies for the Humanities”. The 2024 edition focused on empowering young women in disaster risk reduction through heritage studies.

Attendees engaged in keynote sessions, interactive workshops, and field excursions, exploring the intersection of cultural heritage and scientific inquiry. The event highlighted the importance of cultural heritage in building resilience and fostering gender equality in science.
