Booklet #8 The impact of visual messaging for disaster preparedness (FR)

Abstract

Building on the insights from Booklet #7, this new edition delves deeper into the role of visual communication in natural disaster risk management. While the previous booklet explored how poster-based messaging influences public behaviour before and after a crisis, Booklet #8 shifts the focus to video-based communication.

Set in the Famenne-Ardenne region, it explores how immersive flood warnings—delivered through video and VR—can enhance preparedness and prompt safer choices. The case study highlights how social cues and dynamic storytelling can significantly impact community response in the face of natural hazards.
