RESILIAGE at the Festival della Partecipazione 2025

From 12 to 14 September, RESILIAGE had the pleasure of joining the 10th edition of the Festival della Partecipazione in Bologna – an annual event co-organised by Cittadinanzattiva and ActionAid Italia, bringing together civic actors, researchers, and institutions to reflect on the future of democracy and citizen participation.

As part of the national initiative Sicuri Insieme (Safe Together), our project was invited to contribute to a public panel on cultural heritage and resilience. In this session, Rosa Tamborrino represented RESILIAGE by sharing our vision on how cultural heritage can be a powerful driver of resilience, helping communities prepare for, respond to, and recover from crises.

The panel featured interventions from Sonia Matera (DeepBlue) and Maya Battisti (Cittadinanzattiva), who presented Empower-Citizens, another project focused on emergency preparedness and community engagement. The discussion highlighted how local assets – from traditions and knowledge to historical sites and landscapes – can serve as anchors for communities in times of uncertainty.

We were proud to stand alongside colleagues from Empower-Citizens and other initiatives to reflect on the importance of collective action and civic participation. By connecting resilience with cultural heritage, the session underscored the role of identity, memory, and place in strengthening social cohesion.
