RESILIAGE at CERIS Disaster Resilience Days

Europe’s disaster resilience community gathered in Athens from 6–8 October 2025 for the CERIS Disaster Resilience Days, a flagship event of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Migration and Home Affairs (DG HOME). The multi-day programme brought together policymakers, first responders, researchers, city representatives and innovators to accelerate solutions for prevention, preparedness and response across the EU.

RESILIAGE was represented by our Project Coordinator, Prof. Rosa Tamborrino (Politecnico di Torino), who showcased our heritage-driven approach to disaster risk reduction (DRR) and engaged with peers across sessions and the networking floor.

Rosa Tamborrino exchanged with several EU initiatives to strengthen synergies:

  • The HuT – The Human-Tech Nexus, which tests trans-disciplinary DRR solutions across European demonstrators.

  • B-prepared, which builds citizen preparedness using immersive, scenario-based training and serious gaming.

  • CMINE (Crisis Management Innovation Network Europe), the open community linking practitioners and projects for innovation uptake.

  • Greek municipalities’ representatives, exploring how RESILIAGE’s CORE Labs approach and community co-creation can align with local needs and planning (Athens setting enabled strong municipal participation).

RESILIAGE leaves Athens energised and with new allies. Our thanks to DG HOME for organising the event and to our peers for the productive exchanges. ogether, we will keep translating research into practical tools that help communities protect what matters most: their people and their heritage.
